Pantone Color of the Year 2014

Last month, Pantone® revealed the Color of the Year for 2014, PANTONE 18-3224 Radiant Orchid. This color is described as expressive, exotic, and blooms with confidence and warmth.

“An enchanting harmony of fuchsia, purple and pink undertones, Radiant Orchid inspires confidence and emanates great joy, love and health. It is a captivating purple, one that draws you in with its beguiling charm” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®. Photo Credit: Pantone®

Pantone® carefully chooses a special color every year by “combing the world looking for color influences.” Their website states that everything from the entertainment industry, traveling art collections, popular travel destinations, and the availability of new textures and effects (to name a few) play a role in the decision.
