Digital Printing

The Digital Printing Process

Digital printing is a method of printing where the image is sent directly to the printer via a digital source. Unlike many other forms of printing such as offset printing, digital printing does not require plates to be made for each color. This allows for quick turnaround times and printers can often fulfill requests for as little as one print.

Applications

New forms of print media and printer technologies such as wide format printers have enabled this printing process to fulfill a large variety of printed applications including:

Home and Office – The availability of affordable consumer digital printers make conveniently printing as little as one print possible.

Fine Art – Photographic, watercolor, and canvas media have enabled digital printers to reproduce artwork and offer high quality archival prints.

Vehicles – Digitally printed vehicle wraps simply as a form of vehicle decoration has become popular in recent years.

Advertising – Digital printing is now used for everything from indoor retail signage, outdoor banners and billboards, trade show graphics, vehicle wraps, floor, window, and backlit advertisements.

Architectural Design – Entire environments can be transformed using various forms of large format digital printing including floor graphics, wall graphics, and window graphic.

Media

Vinyl – Can be highly conformable and extremely durable which makes this the most media common choice for vehicle wraps and can be used for wall, window, floor, and P.O.P/indoor graphics.

PVC – Plastics or synthetic resins can be printed on and used for applications such as backlit signage.

Textiles – Often used for flags and banners, trade show signage, and fine art reproduction.
